A member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, Ron Widman serves as a School Improvement Team Specialist for the Ohio Department of Education at the Cuyahoga County Educational Service Center. In this role, he directs the Ohio Improvement Process (OIP) in a number of the state’s school districts. Ron Widman also implements strategies to help primary grade students who are not on track to meet the state’s third grade literacy requirements.As the principal of Scottish Corners Elementary, Mr. Widman led the school to three consecutive “Excellent” Ohio state ratings. Nominated by his staff in 2001, he won the Dublin Board of Education Golden Shamrock Award, which the board presents to individuals who exceed their daily responsibilities.Away from the office, Ron Widman coaches basketball teams of various skill levels and enjoys watching the local Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Cavaliers. He is an avid traveler and frequently visits Charleston, South Carolina, and Cabo St. Lucas in Mexico with his wife and their three daughters.
